Pasquill, the UKs largest supplier of roof trusses, has manufactured and supplied unusually large-scale Posi-attics for a historic church in Nairn near Inverness as part of a fascinating conversion of the Listed building into a childrens nursery. With a clear span of over 14 metres - supported only at the external walls - and a height of 7 metres the Posi-attics are possibly the largest ever manufactured by Pasquill Indeed, they were too large to transport to site in single sections. Attic trusses are manufactured in a similar way to standard trusses, but due to the increased loadings, and their lack of full triangulation, normally they have large timber sections.... more
 
DTE recently worked with Kirkstall Timber to provide roof trusses and loose rafters for an Orion Homes development in Ossett, West Yorkshire. The final design comprising a low roof with high-level, double-stubbed ridge trusses onto parallel box trusses, and an upper roof designed to be a true cone with a diameter of over 19.000m and a height of nearly 6.000m.  "We designed a solution to accommodate the offset Velux window positions on the low roof by using loose rafters to continue the slope down from the box trusses to eaves level, with a separate floor formed in the loose joists. DWB Boston Get The Job Done!

This project was supplied to client for a Lincolnshire supermarket that required 16mtr clear span trusses however, to accommodate on site access restrictions the trusses were required in two parts for onsite splicing connection….more
 

 

Harmony Timber has recently supplied trusses to 5 blocks requiring a mansard roof solution in Twickenham. The roof had been engineered with steel beams throughout and Harmony design team were tasked with removing as much steel as possible. Starting with over 250m of steel beams harmony reduced this by over half to 90m on one block alone. The steel detail was over complicated to start with but with some thought and timber engineering using the latest Pamir software from Mitek, Harmonys design team managed to simplify the steel positions and the timber connections to the steels to also make the erection of the roof more efficient and cost effective….more

 Shire Large Extra Care Facility Long Eaton

Shire completed the Design, Supply & Erection of this large Extra Care Facility in Long Eaton, which comprised of trussed rafters & associated items, spandrel panels, glulam rafters & columns and UPvc fascia & soffits. The Design/Manufacture was undertaken in house and co-ordinated on site by Shires experienced Contracts Manager with one of their top Erection Teams, completing the installation on time with Shire picking up Sub-Contractor of the Month Award.
