Pasquill, the UK’s leading manufacturer of roof trusses and engineered timber solutions, has achieved Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) accreditation at three sites.
Pasquill Redhill has secured the silver standard in July 2021, while Chorley and Stoney Stanton were awarded the bronze in June 2020.
FORS is a voluntary accreditation encompassing all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations. It allows operators to demonstrate how they are achieving high standards of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.
Pasquill works alongside logistics experts XPO to continually improve its fleet of 19 artic and 18 rigids vehicles, which deliver trusses and timber engineered solutions to across the country. To achieve the silver at Redhill, Pasquill had to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to reducing fuel emissions and improving air quality with a range of policies and procedures. These measures are also in line with Pasquill existing commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2045.
It also appointed a Road Risk Champion, completed noise assessments, introduced additional vehicle safety equipment such as blind spot vision aids, and provided additional safety training for all drivers.
Gabriel Prior, Operations Director at Pasquill and Continuous Improvement Director for Saint-Gobain Off-Site Solutions, said: “FORS Accreditation highlights our dedication to managing work-related road risk and exceeding the industry standard. We want to give our customers the confidence that when we are transporting their products to site, we have taken every safety precaution and are playing our part to reduce our environmental impact.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their hard work in reaching this milestone. Now we will set our sights on levelling up to the Gold standard at Redhill and the Silver at Stoney Stanton and Chorley, as well as continuing to look at other ways we can work towards our net-zero carbon emissions target.”
