In memory of Gordon Smith

It is with great sadness that the TRA has received news that Gordon Smith, managing director of Roof Profiles, Irvine, passed away on 6 March 2018.
Roof Profiles was started in 1982 and Gordon was still working full time when he passed away. He was very passionate about his industry and a great all rounder. Starting his working life as a joiner he was very able to understand the manufacturing and construction side of the business, but over recent years devoted more of his time to the design side of the operation. Gordon had many friends and business contacts in the trussed rafter sector, not just in Scotland but throughout the UK and so he will be sadly missed for the contribution he made to the industry over many years.
Carol, Gordon’s widow, said “What has come through from the many cards I have received is that Gordon was kind, generous, funny and inventive. He was a great cook which I for one will miss and also a keen golfer.”
Gordon’s funeral is on Tuesday 27 March 3.00pm at Holmsford Bridge Crematorium, Dreghorn KA11 4EF. Family flowers only at the funeral please.
