Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) Privacy Policy

Introduction
The TRA takes your privacy seriously. This privacy policy describes how and why we obtain, store and process data which can identify you. We may update this policy from time to time and shall indicate on the website when changes have been made. It is assumed that you accept such changes if you continue to use the site and services. If you do not accept such changes you should stop using the TRA website and services, and contact us at info@tra.org.uk if you would like any information removed.
Children (under 18s) are not eligible to use our services and should not submit any personal information to the TRA.
The Information we collect
Information is collected from you when you register with us, apply online to join the TRA, subscribe to our newsletter, book an event, submit an enquiry or contact request, and/or when you contribute to or use some of the other advanced features on the site. The information we collect is clearly set out on the web page on which we collect it. In addition, we may collect your IP address and use cookies unless you configure your web browser not to accept them. Cookies are only used to ensure proper running of this website, and also help us improve your experience when browsing. None of the information we gather via cookies identifies you as an individual – it is all entirely anonymous.
Retention of data
Due to the nature of the association, we do store company information such as contact address, email, telephone number and website address. This is displayed on the website unless you have requested for it to be kept confidential. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or for as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us. You can at any time request for information to be removed from the website.
You must give your explicit consent to receive direct marketing communications from us. On this website, you can do this by ticking the box on the forms where we collect your information.
Why we collect it
We collect information about you so that we can fulfil your request, personalise your use of the site, assist your use of the site and improve the site generally. We never pass on your details to third parties. Just like you, we hate spam. We do not send you spam emails. You may opt out of our emails at any time. An ‘unsubscribe’ link is included in all our email newsletters.
Who we disclose it to
We do not pass on your details to third parties. Occasionally we use a third-party application to assist in member communications eg. a survey app for voting. We only use third-parties that adhere to the Data Protection Act. However, using applications like these are at your own risk and you should always read their privacy policy to ensure you are aware of how your information will be used.
In certain circumstances we may need to disclose information about you if you breach this privacy policy or if you breach the Terms and Conditions. We may also disclose or access your account if required to do so by law or by any Governmental body.
How you can access and update your information
The accuracy of your information is important to us. We’re continually working on ways to make it easier for you to review and correct the information that we hold about you. In the meantime, if you change email address, or any of the other information we hold is inaccurate or out of date, or you wish us to delete or ‘forget’ your information, please email us at: info@tra.org.uk.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information the TRA holds about you, we will not charge for this service under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulations (2018).

Keeping information about you secure is very important to us and certain sections of the site may encrypt data using SSL or a comparable standard. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. As a result, whilst we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information which you send to us, and you do so at your own risk.
