Search for new TRA chair to start soon

6th November 2018

Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) chairman, Jonathan Fellingham, has now stepped down from his role after three years of leading the TRA in its 2020 strategy. The search for a new chairman will begin imminently.

Jonathan said:

“Regrettably, I have to make this decision ahead of the next TRA AGM due to personal circumstances. I have enjoyed my time as Chair and driving the 2020 strategy forward. As a TRA member, I will continue to support the strategy and look forward to my successor taking over the reins and continuing the growth of this important organisation.”

Obviously, it’s not goodbye from Jonathan as he remains managing director of Donaldson Timber Engineering and as a TRA member, but Jonathan has made a huge commitment to the TRA and we thank him for his time, effort and dedication.

For the meantime, as recommended by the TRA’s Management Committee, Nick Boulton will take on the Chair’s duties in addition to his role as TRA Chief Executive. This is an interim arrangement until the recruitment of our next Chair is completed.

The TRA’s growth has been impressive in the last few years and we look forward to welcoming another passionate and innovative thinker to take on the chairman’s role.

After discussing the different possibilities for recruiting a new chairman, it was decided that the appointment should be made within the industry rather than seeking completely external candidates. Due to the technical nature of this market, it is felt the TRA would best be led by someone with the knowledge and insight as either a manufacturer or supplier.

All TRA members are welcome to apply. We will also be accepting applications from those people currently outside the TRA’s membership, on the understanding that they would become a member.

We will be formally announcing recruitment soon.

Our thanks once again to Jonathan, for his sterling contribution as TRA chairman.
