Pasquill, the largest supplier of trussed rafters in the UK, has provided a bespoke Timber Frame Extension with a striking vaulted ceiling at the newly extended office of a holiday park in Cornwall, doubling the size of the original build.
Seven Bays Park chose Pasquill for this project due to its proven track record, showcased by its positive reviews and involvement in award-winning projects. The client was looking for a reliable timber manufacturing company after their first company had let it down after entering the design phase.
Taking over from another company posed a few challenges, including an unfinished first design. After receiving this version, the Pasquill team quickly got to work on finishing the design with new structural calculations. This was completed in a matter of days and shared with the client for them to supply their input. Pasquill had to reassess the best materials to use for the project by providing a breakdown of the products and range the client could use.
The precision-built, pre-manufactured timber frame system provides the structure of an extension – ready to be personalised with a choice of external cladding and roofing finish.
Pasquill also provided the client with sustainable-sourced timber. The company’s timber frame components are manufactured from sustainable timber supplied by FSC® Certified and PEFC-approved sources. Once built, a timber extension can offer a high level of insulation and airtightness, making it a great choice for any project.
When considering the extension, Seven Bays Park was flexible with the cost of their project as it had a specific image in mind for how the build would look. However, it needed a reasonably cost-effective solution, and Pasquill was able to provide this in comparison to the first supplier the client approached.
Thanks to a one-load delivery and one-day construction time, disruption was minimal. The build went incredibly smoothly, especially when considering the complexity of the vaulted roof design and met all relevant efficiency and sustainability regulations for the final project.
Testimonials
David Pope, Design Office Manager at Chorley said this about the urgency of the project “With the unfortunate position the client found himself in we wanted to act as quickly as possible to ensure that we minimised any lost time. Although engineering and designs were completed by the original manufacturer, we needed to make sure that our engineer carried out his appraisal to ensure we were happy and compliant with the design concept”.
When asked if he would work with Pasquill again, Martin at Seven Bays Park said: “Pasquill performed very well on the project. Taking on someone else’s partly completed design part way through a project cannot have been easy. We did wonder if any company would do it and we might have to start again from scratch. We would certainly work with Pasquill again and recommend them to others.”
